Art in Action Burlington Studio Tour

With a less-than-favourable weather forecast lined up for us this weekend here in Burlington, this is the perfect opportunity to check out Art in Action, Burlington’s own art studio tour!

Celebrating their 11th annual studio tour, Art in Action offers the chance to see 29 artists at eight studios all around Burlington.

This self-guided tour takes place on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3, from 10am-5pm each day. Admission to the tour is free and kids are welcome. You can find a map of all the studios here, as well as a list of all the artists who are participating here.

Demos and shopping

You’ll find jewellers, fine artists, photographers, glass artists, blacksmith artists, quilters, sculptors and more. The artists will be offering demos of their work, as well as items for sale. Why not get an early start on your Christmas shopping?

Each year, the studio tour welcomes new and returning artists. Recently, a scholarship program was introduced to Art in Action. The scholarship encourages high school arts students to further their education in the arts and the tour offers the scholarship student the chance to exhibit their work. Find out more about the scholarship program here.

International talent here in Burlington

You’ll want to make a special point of visiting Studio 1 on the tour. Burlington Fine Artist Donna Grandin of Blue Roots Art Studio has recently been invited to exhibit her painting “In the Shade” at the Louvre in Paris, France in December. Her landscape paintings are beautiful snapshots of the foliage in her birth home of St. Lucia.

Artists represented on the  studio tour are either from Burlington or the surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the local arts community here in Burlington, and inspire you and your family with the talent that will be on display. Show your support for the artists and perhaps find a piece that speaks to you.

Happy touring!
