With so many great shopping choices in Burlington, it can be hard to know where to begin. Why not head over to the Burlington Mall, on the corner of Guelph Line and Fairview Street, just south of the QEW, to see what’s new and exciting?
Burlington Mall has seen many changes since it first opened in 1968. Most notably, the mall once hosted an Eatons, a Sears and a three-screen movie theatre. Today, the mall is anchored by the Bay and Target. Other major retailers include: Canadian Tire (separate building), Old Navy, HomeSense, Sport Chek, Winners and GoodLife Fitness. You’ll find a wide range of specialty retailers at Burlington Mall, whether you’re looking for fashion for your family, photography and electronics, health and beauty, home decor and furnishings or books and gifts.
The staff at Burlington Mall take pride in offering great customer service. Stop by their Guest Services Kiosk and take advantage of their free coat check and gift wrapping, or borrow a stroller, wheelchair or walker. You’ll find family-friendly services such as designated parking, a nursing room, free diaper kits and soft seating available throughout the mall, where
your kids you can take a break from all your shopping. While you’re at Guest Services, pick up a gift card or two for someone on your shopping list, which can be used at most mall retailers. Not-for-profit charitable groups may be eligible to use one of the mall’s complimentary kiosks to support their fundraising and awareness efforts. Find out if your group is eligible here.
There are lots of community events happening at Burlington Mall year-round. If you’ve never visited the Farmer’s Market, located in the parking lot on the south side of the mall (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from May to October), make this the summer you decide to shop and eat locally. Lids 4 Kids is being held on Saturday, May 25 in the mall’s parking lot. Members of the Halton Regional Police Service will be fitting kids with helmets donated by the mall and assisting kids through the bike safety rodeo. Stop by the mall in advance to pick up your helmet voucher.
The mall also hosts a recreational Mall Walkers program. Everyone is welcome to join in for some fun and exercise, Monday- Friday from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. If you need a little extra inspiration for sprucing up your home, be sure to check out the Home Improvement & Better Living Show, being held at Burlington Mall from June 20-23.
Last, but certainly not least, Burlington Mall welcomes Santa via helicopter every November. Santa’s arrival has become a memorable Burlington tradition for kids of all ages, complete with hot chocolate, gifts and a parade through the mall to his cabin.
