With the cold nipping at our cheeks and leaves crackling underfoot, fall is in the air!
The City of Burlington is buzzing with lots of fun activities to help take the chill out of the air, including a down-home, old-fashioned fall fair right here in the city.
Get out there and enjoy the best the season at the annual Applefest Fall Fair at Ireland House Museum.

What is there to do?
There’s no end of things to do. Everyone that walks through the door gets a fresh Ontario apple, and children receive goodie bags.
Come with your appetites! From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., dig in to a pancake breakfast made on the historic Ireland wood stove for just $5.00!
Music lovers will delight in the sound of Straight South, whose music styling’s combine classic country and new country with a little rock and soul.
Watch dancing demonstrations in clogging, and country line dancing. Hear an ugly stick played as a musical instrument for the first time at this year’s Applefest.
For the adventurous type, the Ontario Rodeo Association is offering roping lessons.
Demonstrations on all things apple take place throughout the day, from apple cider making to schnitzing. What’s schnitzing you ask? Come see for yourself.
Make a beautiful fall table arrangement with the Horticultural Society.
For the young ones
The fun continues with 4Cats Arts Studio, who will be on hand for those that want to get down and dirty.
Visit the Antique Cars, Antique Tractors & Miniature tractor display. Enter the junior farmer competition or play games and fair-style activities.
Children ages 6-10 will get the opportunity to take part and be crowned Price or Princess in the Applefest Fall Fair Prince and Princesses Pageant! The pageant will start around 3:00p.m.
Visit the new General Store for an olden-day shopping experience.
It’s a day jam-packed with food, family and fun, so come out and enjoy Applefest. All proceeds from Applefest go to Museums’ educational programs and preservation of the historic collection.
