If you're looking for the ultimate in rustic, upcycled style for your home, look no further than Loft Doors.
So, what is upcycling, anyway? “Upcycling is the process of converting old or discarded materials into something useful and often beautiful.” It's pretty much recycling on steroids, making something destined for the garbage pile into something new and fabulous. It's giving a new purpose to something that has outlived its usefulness, which in turn makes a great positive impact on our environment.
This is where Loft Doors comes in. They use reclaimed wood from old barns in the area, many well over 100 years old, to create beautiful and practical conversation pieces for your home. Some barn beams even date back to the early 1800's, giving you the opportunity to invest in some history.
Loft Doors began in 2011 when Owner Jeff Collins started adding rustic elements to his home to make it feel more cosy. He started with his fireplace, adding a barn beam mantel. Next was a barn door separating his loft door from the hallway. Visitors to his home loved the look and feel of these pieces. In fact, they were such a hit that Loft Doors was born.
Loft Doors will fabricate custom sliding doors, tables, benches, chalkboards, mirrors and sliding door hardware and also provide delivery and installation. Each piece is crafted with your house in mind and can be made to a custom size. The pieces can integrate into almost any décor, whether you're a homeowner, business or restaurant owner or a commercial client.
Loft Doors are an ideal addition to your home – a sliding door is a space-saver in a small space such as a hallway, and your guests will definitely remember the WOW factor of your beautiful accent pieces.
Jeff says, “I love it when someone visits our showroom for the first time. They get so excited, like they just found a hidden gem.” He says that they can build or replicate almost anything, so if you find something you like online, forward him the photo.
The Burlington showroom is open by appointment only. Send Jeff an email at email@example.com or give him a call at 905.966.5450.
Once your gorgeous new piece is installed, send us a photo here at Burlington Lifestyle – we'd love to see the results!
