New Options Arise from PARC Process

The PAR Committee has drafted six new options that it will begin presenting to the public tonight at Hayden SS (3040 Tim Dobbie Drive).  These new options present new challenges as they shift focus from the current proposal to close Pearson and Central.

If you follow the social media trail you’ll see numerous notes regarding the data presented by the Save LBPHS and Central Strong groups.  Some of this data highlights enrollment issues at Robert Bateman.  As well, the Central Strong group has been very vocal on the increase in number of bused students if Central were to close.

There is one new option drafted that does not propose any school closures. Rather, it suggests a citywide reshuffling of catchments.  This would hopefully correct the enrollments at Hayden, Pearson, MM Robinson and Central.

The meeting will run tonight starting at 7.  Save LBPHS will be holding a community rally beforehand from 6:15-7 outside of Hayden SS.
