Soup Bowl at the Burlington Art Centre

Got lunch plans? If so, change them, and head over to the Burlington Art Centre (BAC) in downtown Burlington for the Classic Soup Bowl experience. But you’ll have to move fast, because this popular event, now in its 13th year, is almost sold out.

Soup Bowl is Burlington Art Centre’s largest fundraiser. Money raised from this unique event is used to support BAC’s many programs. Soup Bowl is taking place from November 14-17, with five seatings: four lunch seatings and one Friday night dinner seating, which also includes an entree. Thursday lunch is already sold out, but you can still call 905-632-7796, ext 326 to get your tickets for one of the other seatings.

What’s the scoop on soup?

When you arrive at the Art Centre, you’ll have the chance to choose from over 800 pottery bowls, made and donated by local artists and the Burlington Potters’ Guild. Each bowl is one-of-a-kind and you get to keep your bowl at the end of your meal (they’ll even wash it for you before you bring it home).

Next, get your bowl filled with soup when you choose from several restaurants offering their savoury choices. Do any of these restaurants pique your taste buds?

  • West Plains Bistro
  • Emma’s Back Porch/Water St. Cooker
  • Pepperwood Bistro
  • Canyon Creek
  • Red Canoe Bistro
  • SB Prime
  • The Dickens
  • Eatalia
  • Spencer’s at the Waterfront
  • Rude Native Bistro

Talk about culinary artistry! This video will make you hungry for some roasted cauliflower soup.

You’ll also enjoy salad, bread, a hot beverage and you’ll have access to the cash bar. Sounds like a fantastic way to spend your lunch hour!

But there’s more!

You’ll also have a chance to shop at the Christmas Sale, where a large selection of beautiful, unique and handcrafted gifts, made by local guilds, will help you easily get started on your Christmas shopping. And maybe a little something special for yourself?

This is the perfect opportunity to support Burlington’s art community, try some fabulous, gourmet fall flavours created by local eateries and get some Christmas shopping done. Now that’s multitasking!

Admission and parking are free this weekend. Get ticket information here.

The Burlington Art Centre is located at 1333 Lakeshore Road.
