Burlington Lifestyle hopes you have a chance to spend some time with loved ones this weekend. Thanksgiving is the perfect chance to express gratitude and to share with those who may be struggling in our community. Whether you’re feeling grateful experiencing nature, or supporting a great cause, these ideas will point you in the right direction!

Beaver and Bulldog Flood Relief Fundraiser – Support your neighbours and your community at the Beaver and Bulldog’s country music flood relief fundraiser on Thursday, October 9, with Burlington recording artist Bianca Bernardi performing. They’ll be selling $25 food gift certificates for $10 with all proceeds going towards the Burlington flood relief fund. You can also donate cash and clothing towards the fund.

Burlington Eagles Garage Sale & Food Drive – This annual event has grown incredibly over the past few years, as young hockey players learn about service and giving back to their community. On October 11, from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., a garage sale is being held at the Burlington Eagles office at 1176 Blair Road. All money raised will go towards buying food for The Burlington Eagles Gift of Giving Back Community Food Drive. The Salvation Army, Carpenter Hospice, Halton Women’s Place, and Partnership West are the beneficiaries of this food drive. This is a great way to support those in our community who need it, especially at Thanksgiving.

Fall into Nature is taking place on October 11-13 at all Conservation Halton parks. Take in some fantastic scenery while taking a chairlift ride to the top of the escarpment, wander the trails, take a wagon ride and enjoy demonstrations, performances, children’s activities, and more. This is a great way to explore some of the beautiful natural spaces that surround Burlington.
