Musings from a dog walk.

I took my faithful buddy out for his evening constitutional last night. It was almost dark and yet still hotter than the peppers that Peter Piper picked. The cicadas were cicada-ing, the lilies were perfuming the air, the trees hovering over the streets like a sunshade…ahhh. I took it all in.

We passed by more than a couple of homes that had left water bowls out for the doggies. How kind. And sometimes, when people walked by us, they would smile and say hello. How nice. I walk past the creeks and “coyote areas” with courage; I am carrying my coyote stick. How exciting.

What I am trying to say is, how lucky we are…what a great place we live in!

This Monday the big party that you can’t miss is the Joseph Brant Day Festival at Lasalle Park (11am-4pm). It’s going to be a great one this year, celebrating the big one-five-oh!

(A special mention to Lakeside a la Carte happening next Sunday at Spencer Smith Park. Get your tickets now for this great cause.)
